“My First French Restaurant” – A Love Letter to Little Moments
This piece is inspired by a little restaurant in France, believed to be hangout of Picasso and Henri Toulouse. As I painted it, I was taken back to childhood memories of riding along with my dad, a truck driver who introduced me to the world through flavors. We’d stop at small restaurants like this—tucked into winding cobblestone streets—where I’d get to taste new dishes and quietly soak in the culture, the people, the magic of everyday life.
This painting is more than a restaurant —it’s a portal to those cherished memories, to the warmth of family, and the beauty of slowing down.
Do you have a place that brings you back to a meaningful memory?
